Join Food for Others for our 9th Annual Tysons 5K & Fun Run on Sunday, September 25th! Although Northern Virginia has a reputation for being wealthy, 1 of every 11 people struggles with food insecurity. The high cost of living in the area plus inflation make it difficult for families to manage when there’s an emergency like a job loss or sudden illness. You can make a difference today by supporting Food for Others! With your $35 race registration, you provide 21 families with a gallon of milk, 7 students with weekend meal packs, or 1 family with 3.5 days’ worth of meals.

Reston Station is hosting the first ever FREE Silent Dance Party on Reston Metro Plaza on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 5-9 pm!
To dance, you will be provided wireless headphones in exchange for your driver’s license. Choose from three different genres of music spun by three different live DJs. So hush and hustle, be silent and shake it, or be a little bashful before you boogie. Nobody cares — it’s all up to you!
Bring your friends and family to dance like nobody’s watching and enjoy other activities for kids of all ages.
Moongaze with us at our Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia on International Observe the Moon Night! Join staff and members of the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club for an evening of stargazing. We’ll help you use our telescopes to observe planets, stars, and more.
- Stargazing is free and open to the public.
- The event is weather permitting and may be canceled due to rain, clouds, and other poor visibility. For last-minute updates, call the Astronomy Education number at 202-633-2517,
- Bring warm clothes and a small flashlight. If possible, make your flashlight red by wrapping it in a brown paper bag or red cellophane.
- Parking is free after 4:00 pm. Please park at the south end of the main parking lot, and consider dimming your headlights as you approach.
- Stargazing is located at the south end of the Museum’s parking lot. Look for staff with red flashlights to help guide you to the telescopes.

The 2022 Lime Connect Ride Presented by Bloomberg is here! Lime Connect’s annual bike ride to rebrand disability is open to riders of all experience levels, you can join for the in-person event on October 8th in Reston (including a century ride, metric century, 30-mile, and 10-mile course).
Post-ride festivities include lunch from Mission BBQ (Herndon), music, massages, and beer specially brewed by Bike Lane Brewery – in addition to fun swag and giveaways. “The Lime Connect Ride is probably the best I’ve ever done. It’s a great ride through the Loudoun County countryside, and I’m riding again this year!” stated Dave Duvall, Lime Connect Ride participant.
Funds raised support the Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for college-bound high school seniors with disabilities and the ongoing development of Lime Network members.
Those who are not able to join in person have the option of riding virtually – anywhere in the world – between September 8th and October 8th. An “Anything Goes” option allows individuals to rack up miles by walking, running, using a wheelchair, Peleton, or any form of mobility.

Come dressed in your favorite costume and enjoy sensational performances for the whole family. Peter McCory, a famed one-man-band, will put children in the Halloween spirit at 12:00 p.m., followed by Bob Brown’s Puppets in “Monster Madness” at 1:15 p.m. Little ghosts and goblins up to age 8 can try their skill at games until 2:00 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years and older) throughout the event.
