Author Talk: Katharine Schellman and Stacie Murphy

On June 17, join the Bards Alley booksellers at Mary Riley Styles Public Library for a scintillating conversation between Virginian historical mystery authors Katharine Schellman and Stacie Murphy! The authors will discuss Katharine’s new book “The Last Drop of Hemlock,” a sequel to 2022’s “Last Call at the Nightingale.”

When “The Last Drop of Hemlock” opens, the year is 1924, and Vivian Kelly has found a semblance of stability for herself and her sister. But then, Pearlie, the doorman at the speakeasy where Vivian works, is poisoned and his niece has doubts about the official ruling of “suicide.” Resolved to help her friend and keep her fellow employees at the Nightingale safe, our protagonist finds herself once again digging through a dead man’s past in hopes of catching a killer.
