Earlier: Police are searching for the person who killed a man Thursday evening (Feb. 10) at an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Willow Crescent Drive, just north of the City of Fairfax.
Fairfax County Police Sgt. Ian Yost says the department received a call around 8:12 p.m. reporting shots fired and then, a man down. EMS personnel rushed him to a trauma center, where he died.
Witnesses, he said, reported seeing a Black woman, maybe in her 20s or 30s, wearing a tan coat and black pants, flee the area on foot.
Police asked for people to avoid the area as they searched and to call 911 if they have any information.
