Angela Woolsey — Site Editor
Angela is the site editor for FFXnow. A graduate of George Mason University, she worked as a general assignment reporter for the Fairfax County Times before joining Local News Now as the Tysons Reporter editor in 2020.
Scott McCaffrey — Senior Reporter
A Northern Virginia native, Scott has four decades of reporting, editing and newsroom experience in the local area plus Florida, South Carolina and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. He spent 26 years as editor of the Sun Gazette newspaper chain. For Local News Now, he covers government and civic issues in Arlington, Fairfax County and Falls Church.
Jared Serre — Public Safety Reporter
Jared covers local business, public safety and breaking news, primarily for FFXnow and ARLnow. Originally from Northeast Ohio, he is a graduate of West Virginia University. He previously worked for Law360 before joining in May 2024.
Katie Taranto — Business Editor
Katie graduated from the University of Missouri in 2024, where she previously covered K-12 education at The Columbia Missourian. She is originally from Macungie, Pennsylvania. Katie is the primary local business reporter for ARLnow and its sister sites, ALXnow and FFXnow. She also writes our B2B email newsletter, The Ground Floor.
Emily Leayman — Senior Reporter
Emily is the editor of ALXnow and contributes reporting to ARLnow and FFXnow. She was previously a field editor covering parts of Northern Virginia for Patch for more than eight years. A native of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, she lives in Northern Virginia.
