
Fairfax County police identified the man killed in a shooting in Centreville on Monday night (Feb. 21) as a 37-year-old Leesburg resident.
Police officers responded around 10 p.m. to a townhouse in the 14800 block of Bodley Square in the London Towne area and found Amaru Amin Shabazz inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds, the department said in a news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Shabazz was visiting the home when an altercation occurred between him and others, which resulted in the shooting, police said. Detectives found multiple guns at the scene and determined numerous rounds were fired inside.
A witness told police a man ran from the residence after the gunshots.
