Herndon police investigating report of assault

(Updated at 3:51 pm) Herndon Police officers have arrested a Herndon resident in connection with a malicious wounding earlier today (Thursday).

Police are in the 1100 block of Dublin Place and arrested Dimitri Pike, 23, of Herndon. He was charged with malicious wounding of a victim that was known to him.

The victim is being treated for injuries that are not life threatening, police said earlier this afternoon.

Spokeswoman Lisa Herndon said around 9:15 a.m. the incident was still unfolding.
