JUST IN: Car crash closes Georgetown Pike in McLean, injures drivers

Updated at 7:30 p.m. — Georgetown Pike has reopened, and the driver’s injuries are no longer considered life-threatening, though they remain in the hospital, police say

Earlier: Georgetown Pike has shut down in McLean after a vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital.

The Fairfax County Police Department said at 4:16 p.m. that officers are currently on the scene of the three-vehicle crash. A 1-mile stretch of Georgetown Pike is closed between Old Dominion Drive and Towlston Road.

According to police, one driver has been transported to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, while another driver was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

This is one of several disruptive vehicle crashes reported in Fairfax County today (Wednesday).

A separate three-vehicle crash in Reston this morning sent one person to the hospital and shut down the Wiehle Avenue and Baron Cameron Avenue intersection. Crashes on Fairfax County Parkway and Old Keene Mill Road also resulted in injuries, and there was a crash on Stonecroft Boulevard in Chantilly.

Our classes cover an exciting spectrum of creative mediums, including fiber arts such as knitting, modern embroidery, crochet, and sewing. We also offer classes in ceramics on the wheel, drawing, watercolor, gouache, oil, acrylic, still-life painting, and captivating Japanese Suminagashi and printmaking. One of the highlights of this session is the highly anticipated 5-week “Painting the Portrait and Figure” workshop, led by the renowned local artist, Danni Dawson.
