(Updated at 12 p.m.) Town of Herndon staple Friday Night Live! was set to return today (Friday), but tonight’s scheduled concert has now been called off due to the rainy weather.

“While we normally do not cancel this early in the day, the near certainty of an eventual cancellation dictates that we allow the band, food vendors, etc. to plan accordingly for their day rather than drag things out to the end,” Friday Night Live! Chairman Laura Poindexter said in an emailed message.

The band It’s All Good had been booked to kick off the summer-long concert series, which has been a town tradition since 1995 and typically features rock bands

The season will instead start on May 13 with JunkFood, a returning performer that plays rock, pop, and country.

The series is produced by the Herndon Chamber of Commerce and Volkswagen Group of America is the title sponsor.

A complete schedule is available online. Concerts are scheduled to run through August 26 at the same time every week on the town green (777 Lynn Street).

All ages are welcome, but children under 12 must be accompanied at all times. Guests can bring a blanket, outside food and lawn chairs to the event.

Food, beer and wine will be available on site. Domino’s and Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern plan to sell food and non alcoholic beverages, along with Dairy Queen and Herndon High School’s school sports boosters.

No pets are allowed.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
