Fairfax Democrats Set Details of Upcoming Caucus Vote

By Brian Trompeter

The Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) on April 21 announced five in-person voting locations for its upcoming nominating caucus.

Caucus voting will take place to select endorsees for School Board seats and the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District, and is separate from the June 20 Democratic primary where candidates for Board of Supervisors and several other offices will be selected.

Any voter seeking to participate in the caucus process must sign up by May 5 at fairfaxdems.org/caucus to vote.

Voting for the caucus will be conducted online from May 13 through 20, and at in-person locations on May 20 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

In-person voting for the caucus will take place at the following sites:

• Reston Association conference room, 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston.

• Braddock District Office’s Braddock Hall, 9002 Burke Lake Road in Burke.

• Gerry Hyland Government Center, Room 221ABC, 8350 Richmond Highway in Alexandria.

• Fairfax County Democratic Committee Headquarters, 8500 Executive Park Ave., No. 402, in Fairfax.

• Centreville Regional Library, Meeting Room 1, 14200 St. Germain Drive in Centreville.

“The Fairfax County Democratic Committee is excited that its new caucus process for endorsement allows the Democratic voters of the county to have a say in our endorsements,” said FCDC chairman Bryan Graham. “While we anticipate most voters will vote online, we want to give our voters the option of five in-person voting locations for this year’s endorsement caucus. “
