Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is set to take flight in Franconia next week.

The casual American restaurant chain announced this week that it will open its first Fairfax County location next Monday, July 22, serving up hand-cut, aged steaks, fresh seafood and other signature dishes in the Festival at Manchester Lakes shopping center at 7027-A Manchester Blvd.

According to a press release, the new restaurant, which employs roughly 100 people, will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant also intends to offer bar bites and happy hour cocktails at its FIREBAR on weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m.

Founded about 23 years ago in Charlotte, North Carolina, Firebirds was acquired in March 2023 by Garnett Station Partners, whose other investments include Kona Ice and the world’s largest Burger King franchisee.

Firebirds now has 61 locations across 20 states and plans to expand, including in Northern Virginia, according to FSR Magazine. As of November 2023, the company had just one Virginia location in Richmond.

Over the past eight months, Firebirds has launched three new restaurants in Loudoun and Prince William counties. The upcoming Fairfax opening will give the company its fifth location in Virginia.
