Kate Spade New York has officially made the jump from Tysons Galleria to Tysons Corner Center.
The fashion brand opened a new store in the larger mall last Friday (July 19) after closing its Galleria location in June. Located on the second floor next to Swarovski, Kate Spade New York sells handbags, jewelry, fragrances and other accessories.
“We are thrilled to open our doors and embrace the community at Tysons Corner Center this summer,” Kate Spade New York CEO and Brand President Liz Fraser said in a press release. “…When customers walk into the store, we want them to feel that they are walking into a uniquely kate spade world. One that is both colorful and conceptual, clever, and crafted, curated and rooted in the culture of the community that surrounds it.”
Launched in 1993 as a handbag collection, Kate Spade has since expanded into a broader lifestyle brand focused on women’s fashion, accessories and home decor. It has 134 outlet stores and 63 specialty stores, including the one in Tysons and ones in CityCenterDC and Henrico.
According to the release, the company’s 2,140-square-foot store at Tysons Corner Center continues a global rollout of a new design concept “inspired by elements of both uptown and downtown New York, the brand’s hometown.”
Wood tones, wall coverings and gold accents complement the brand’s signature color palette of green, black and cream, with touches of pink and red sprinkled throughout. A residential feel is layered in through eclectic decor, rich fabrics and monumental artwork, giving both a sense of comfort and charm that resembles a New York City apartment. The facade is marked with green and marble stripes to create an inviting entry point that stands out from neighboring storefronts. The interior reflects the concept of a home, a classic architectural element that houses the brand’s lifestyle categories for customers to explore.
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except for Sundays, when it opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m.
Other recent additions at Tysons Corner Center include Amorino, a French gelato chain that opened a kiosk on the mall’s first floor near Macy’s on July 12, and Primark, whose grand opening giveaways drew crowds throughout this past weekend.
Amorino was started in Paris, France, in 2002 by childhood friends Cristiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi, according to its website. Now with over 200 stores worldwide, the business is distinguished by its rose-shaped scoops, which come with the option to add a gelato-filled macron. Hot and cold drinks, including sorbet drinks and milkshakes, are also available.
Later this year, Maggiano’s and the Cheesecake Factory — both longtime Tysons Galleria tenants — are also expected to relocate to Tysons Corner Center.
