A new spot for Vietnamese cuisine has opened in Fairfax City’s Fair City Mall.
Tucked in the corner of the shopping center near Cinema Arts Theatres is 54 Restaurant Bar & Lounge, a Vietnamese restaurant that says it utilizes fresh ingredients from local farmers. The eatery had a soft opening at 9650 Main Street, Unit 10, on July 18.
The restaurant’s menu features a variety of traditional offerings, including stir-fried noodles, vermicelli noodles and rice dishes. Fourteen different seafood dishes are available, along with five house specials — items such as five-spice grilled beef and grilled lamb chops.
Beverages include seven different teas and Vietnamese iced coffee. Diners may also choose from the restaurant’s six signature cocktails and 12 beer options.
The restaurant has seen success so far, generating a near-perfect rating across Yelp and Google Reviews since it opened on July 18.
“I had an amazing experience,” one reviewer wrote. “The space is large, staff was on point and the food was delicious. Definitely my go-to from now on.”
The restaurant is open from 4-11 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. It has late-night hours on Fridays and Saturdays, closing at 2 a.m., and lunch is offered on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning at 11 a.m.
Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant.
This is the third restaurant that has tried to fill the void left by Old Country Buffet, which shuttered in 2016 after the chain’s owner declared bankruptcy. Previous occupants have included Breakers Korean BBQ and Grill and Merkado Mexican Grill and Bar.
