Chantilly is staking a claim as Northern Virginia’s pickleball capital.
A new indoor pickleball facility — this one of the Dill Dinkers brand — is coming to the area, four years after a similar venue opened two miles away.
“Chantilly has a thriving and rapidly expanding pickleball scene,” franchisee Andriana Solano said, “which made it a natural choice for us…The area’s strong sense of community, combined with the growing interest in the sport, convinced us that Chantilly was the perfect place to launch our new club.”
The facility will be located at 13954 Metrotech Drive, according to Fairfax County permits, ultimately filling the 30,400-square-foot space in the Sully Place Shopping Center that once belonged to a Babies”R”Us store.
“The combination of its central location and the bustling community around it makes this an ideal spot for our first pickleball facility in Fairfax County,” Solano said. “We couldn’t have asked for a better location to serve this growing community.”
Dill Dinkers, which currently has 13 locations nationwide, offers clinics and lessons for new pickleballers, as well as a variety of courts that can be reserved for open play. Customers are encouraged to purchase a membership, which allows for discounted court fees, early court-booking windows and more.
Many locations also feature a ball machine for practice, an event area, a cafe and a pro shop, according to the brand’s website.
The new Chantilly facility is targeting a winter opening, adding another activity for residents looking to get out of the cold.
“Our team is working diligently to ensure that all the final touches are completed on time so we can welcome the community into the new space during the colder months, just in time for indoor pickleball enthusiasts to enjoy,” Solano said.
