A Chantilly pizza and salad restaurant is planting the seeds for a transformation.
After six years in its current form, Farmtruck Pizza & Greens (14385 Newbrook Drive, Suite 500) announced this morning (Tuesday) that it will serve customers for the last time this Sunday (Sept. 15) before reopening early next year as Farmside Kitchen.
“Thank you for all your support, and we can’t wait to welcome you back!” the Farmtruck team said in an Instagram post.
Chantilly will be home to the second location for Farmside Kitchen, a fast-casual eatery specializing in grain bowls and salads that launched in Durham, North Carolina, in April 2021. The business is also planning to expand to Cary, North Carolina, in early 2025.
Like Farmtruck, which was inspired by its founder’s childhood on a Pennsylvania farm and has partners around the D.C. area, Farmside Kitchen sources its food from local and regional farmers with an emphasis on nutritious, organic ingredients.
The Durham location has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, with reviews praising the freshness of the food and quality of the service.

Farmside Kitchen will feature Americana-style fresh foods made with nutrient rich, locally sourced ingredients (whenever possible) from trusted partners and farmers, at an affordable price. The menu will offer select foods farmed using organic, hydroponic and regenerative agriculture practices demonstrating a commitment to the planet, sourcing partners and guests. The Farmside Kitchen experience will be rustic-inspired, yet modern, comfortable and inviting.
The restaurant will occupy 2,470 square feet in The Field at Commonwealth, the Chantilly shopping center anchored by Wegman’s.
CEO Meg Shiffman, a Virginia resident, says Farmside Kitchen saw “a real appetite here for fresh, flavorful food that doesn’t compromise on health or taste” in Chantilly.
“As a small business with strong local ties, we’re excited to introduce our Americana-inspired grain bowls and salads, scratch-made with ingredients sourced from nearby farms and partners,” she said in the press release. “Chantilly’s vibrant food scene and strong business community make it the perfect next step for Farmside Kitchen’s growth. Our philosophy is to be good to the planet, good to the community and good to your taste buds. We can’t wait to introduce what we’ve been cooking up to the Chantilly community!”
