Two men who pleaded guilty to stealing more than 50 firearms from a Newington gun store will each spend most of the next decade in prison.

Cedric Minger, 22, of Maryland was sentenced yesterday (Wednesday) to serve nine years and six months behind bars by the U.S. District Court for Virginia’s Eastern District. Victor Jones, 22, of Washington, was sentenced to nine years earlier this month in the same court.

The pair is also subject to pay restitution to the store of “at least” $60,000, according to two near-identical plea agreements.

In May 2023, Dominion Defense at 7200 Fullerton Road reported that 53 firearms — a combination of handguns and long guns — had been stolen from the store. Security footage showed four men working to enter the store through a small opening above the door, Fairfax County police said.

Minger made it inside the store, collecting the guns before passing them to Jones and the other two men, according to court records. The suspects then placed the guns in a stolen vehicle and returned to D.C., where the guns were placed up for sale.

Jones and Minger were arrested the following month.

As of June 25, only 15 of the 53 stolen guns had been recovered, according to police. One of the firearms was recovered from an elementary school student, the court said.
