A nearly 3,200-square-foot facility for dog training has opened in Springfield.
Zoom Room, located at 6812 Bland Street, held its grand opening last Saturday (Sept. 21). It’s the first location in the D.C. area for the national chain, which currently has more than 100 centers nationwide.
“We considered D.C. and Virginia,” franchise owner Shawn Poulin told FFXnow about the site selection. “Since we envision more than one location in the area, we felt it would be easier to manage if we kept them in Virginia. Springfield is centrally located and is situated conveniently next to major highways and that made it an easy choice.”
Interested dog owners can first bring their dog to participate in either an orientation, which is intended for puppies and younger dogs, or an evaluation, which focuses on advanced coursework and individual training.
Dogs will be able to focus on a variety of areas, including obedience, agility and enrichment, according to the company’s website.
Both group classes and private training are available, including half-hour private remote sessions held via video chat. Testing following American Kennel Club guidelines is also available.
The facility appears to hold classes daily from 11 a.m. to approximately 8 p.m. according to its schedule, although it has slimmer hours on weekends.
In the future, Zoom Room plans to open locations in Tysons and Ashburn, according to its website.
