Fear not, seekers of spice — a new spot for hot chicken dishes has opened its doors in Fairfax County.

The Red Bird began serving its halal hot chicken on Saturday (Oct. 5) in Bailey’s Crossroads, following other local outposts in Reston and Vienna.

The Bailey’s Crossroads location sits at 3405 Payne Street, the former site of Mount Olive Restaurant in the Crossroads Center shopping center.

Emphasizing its ethical practices in raising chickens, the Red Bird offers a menu with a variety of different chicken dishes.

Customers can choose from chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets and rice bowls — each capable of being served with spice options ranging from original to “Fck You Cra.”

To accompany your entree, The Red Bird offers french fries, mac and cheese and cole slaw as side dishes.

Started two years ago in Los Angeles, the brand has since grown to a variety of locations nationwide. Red Bird is in the midst of a proposed five-store expansion across Northern Virginia, with restaurants in Ashburn and Arlington expected in the future, a brand official told FFXnow last fall.

The Red Bird isn’t the only Nashville-style hot chicken chain growing in the area. Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken, for example, already operates six locations across Fairfax County, while Dave’s Hot Chicken and Wooboi Chicken each have two locations.

The Red Bird’s Bailey’s Crossroads location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
