A light therapy and infrared sauna is coming to the Midtown at Reston Town Center.
A Fairfax County permit application shows that Beem Light Sauna will open at 1864 Explorer Street, Suite B. The business submitted plans for interior alterations to allow sauna suites and restrooms on Monday (Oct. 7).
A building plan currently under county review shows five saunas, including a larger social sauna and a sauna outfitted for ADA accessibility. The facility will also have two rooms for red light therapy and a merchandise area.
Beem Light Sauna did not return several requests for comment, but Woodmont Properties property manager Auston Smith told FFXnow that the business will likely open sometime in the beginning of 2025.
Noting that the timeline was simply an estimate, Smith says Beem will occupy part of the former BB&T Bank space, which has been vacant since the branch closed in 2019. The remainder of the subdivided space has been leased to a business called The Tea Company, though that buildout hasn’t started yet.
Beem Light Sauna offers services like infrared light therapy, red light therapy and chromotherapy. The services are intended to remove toxins, improve metabolic function, relieve plan, boost immunity and renew skin, according to marketing materials.
Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the company’s only location in Virginia right now is at Virginia Beach Town Center. It’s also planning its first New York and Pennsylvania locations with expansions to Brooklyn in New York City and Malvern.
