The company behind Mike’s American, Coastal Flats and other popular Northern Virginia restaurants is adding a “fresh and quality-driven take on classic BBQ” to its collection of eateries.
Stupid Good BBQ, the newest dining endeavor from Great American Restaurants, is scheduled to open in Springfield’s Concord Shopping Center early next month, the company announced today (Tuesday).
Filling a nearly 2,700-square-foot space at 6125 Backlick Road across from Mike’s American, the eatery will feature a menu with more than six different “high-quality, slow-smoked” meats, including brisket, turkey, pulled pork and pulled chicken.
According to a press release, the restaurant’s signature offerings are “smashed” baked potatoes, featuring a variety of traditional toppings. Diners can also opt to add chili, brisket or pulled pork to complete their dish.
“We’re excited to bring our love of delicious BBQ to Stupid Good BBQ,” Great American Restaurants CEO Jon Norton said. “Our team created a menu that brings out the best in BBQ, using our dedication to quality ingredients, scratch-made cooking, and some twists on classic comfort food.”
Other main options include five different sandwiches, as well as a chopped salad and the Stupid Good Pulled Chicken Salad.
Diners will be able to choose from nine different traditional side dishes, including potato salad, mac and cheese and collard greens. Six different sauce options will also be available, including two influenced by traditional barbecue hotbeds across the country.
Stupid Good BBQ will begin serving diners at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. From then on, it will open daily at 11 a.m., closing at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
