Six girls volleyball players from the rival Flint Hill Huskies and Potomac School Panthers were chosen to Division I all-state teams from their performances during the fall high-school season.
Making first team from Flint Hill were senior hitter and setter Isabelle Bardin, senior libero Kadi Pynchon and sophomore middle blocker Hunter Ross and, from Potomac School, senior middle hitter Skylar Guliani.
Bardin led Flint Hill in kills with 403 to go with 306 assists, 236 digs and 23 blocks. Pynchon had 346 digs, 87 assists and 41 aces. Ross had 234 kills and 65 blocks. Giuliani had 223 kills and 16 aces.
Chosen second team from Potomac School were senior outside hitters Zora Burrell and Adelena Rodgers. Burrell had 190 kills and 217 digs. Rodgers had 217 assists, 175 digs and 28 aces.
Flint Hill finished 21-6 this season and second in the Division I state tournament as the No. 3 seed, defeating second seed Potomac School (13-4) in the semifinals, 3-2. Flint Hill had a 2-1 record in the state tournament and Potomac School was 1-1.
Bardin, who will play college volleyball at Purdue University, also was chosen to the American Volleyball Coaches Association 19th annual Girls High School All-America Team as a second-team selection from Region 2.
Langley High School senior hitter Ana Toumazatos was chosen to the third team from Region 2. She will play in college at James Madison University.
