All-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant coming soon to West Falls Church

An all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant has set its sights on West Falls Church.

Signage for Sushi Ohayo has appeared in a storefront in the Shops at West Falls Church, signaling the brand’s third Fairfax-area restaurant.

Located at 7395A Route 29, the forthcoming restaurant follows an initial opening in Chantilly and the launch of a Lorton restaurant in December 2023.

It is currently unclear, however, when exactly the new eatery is expected to open. Attempts to obtain additional information from a company spokesperson went unanswered.

Sushi Ohayo has drawn local acclaim for its variety of menu offerings, including both all-you-can-eat sushi and hibachi dishes.

At $25.99 per adult, diners can indulge in as much as they’d like from 110 different offerings. That slate includes more than 60 different sushi options and 15 different hibachi, yakisoba or fried rice entrees.

For an additional $6 per person, diners can take advantage of all-you-can-eat sashimi — thinly sliced raw fish — with 15 different menu options.

The restaurant will fill a 5,400-square-foot space previously occupied by Saigon 1975, a Vietnamese restaurant that closed in 2020.

Though a sign permit was issued by Fairfax County officials late last month, no permanent fixture had been installed as of last week. It’s also publicly unknown how much of the proposed commercial, plumbing and build-out alterations have yet to be completed.

When Sushi Ohayo does open its doors, it intends to be open daily for both lunch and dinner hours, according to a permit application filed in November.
