Tysons Corner Center is going all out for cherry blossom season this year.
The mall announced last week that it will host four weeks of “diverse creative programming and themed events” from March 20 to April 13.
“Known as the world’s most celebrated springtime event, the National Cherry Blossom Festival attracts over 1.5 million visitors to the DC region each year,” a release from Tysons Corner Center said. “To honor this season, Tysons Corner Center will host a lively festival on the Plaza, featuring a variety of themed activities and attractions.”
The release said the festival will include cherry blossom-inspired merchandise and discounts, like Sakura Cherry Blossom bath accessories from LUSH and cherry blossom and bonsai tree LEGO sets.
The festival will also include seasonal food offerings from retailers and restaurants at the mall over those four weeks, such as a strawberry hibiscus margarita at Season 52 or blossom salad at Barrel & Bushel.
Tysons Corner Center will also host a “Blossom Bash” event on Sunday, March 30, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Plaza. The event will include themed activities, live art and entertainment, food sampling and more.
According to the release, event activities will include:
- Exhibits from 20 Tysons Corner Center retailers and restaurants, showcasing their Cherry Blossom themed offerings
- Live Chalk Art activation in partnership with ArtsFairfax featuring 20 local artists
- Family-friendly free activities including face painting
- Special performances by Cherry Blossom Parade talent: Washington Commanders Command Force and the Washington Wizards Dance Team
- “PenFed Petals” activation during the event; PenFed Credit Union will be giving away beautiful build-your-own bouquets featuring cherry blossom branches and other seasonal flowers. Plus, their flower wall will be available for selfies. PenFed members get VIP access and premium bouquets.
- Custom “Pink Drinks” from Earl’s, Eddie V’s, and Barrel + Bushel. Guests can take their drinks to the Plaza to sip, stroll, and enjoy the event.
