A national beauty salon chain has expanded its local presence in Fairfax County just in time for prom and wedding season.
Sola Salon Studios recently welcomed locations in Reston and Chantilly to its roster with grand openings on March 17 and 24, respectively. Both salons are corporate-owned but offer suites for lease to independent barbers, hair stylists and other beauty professionals.
The additions represent “a significant milestone” in the company’s efforts to grow in the D.C. region, Sola Salons said in a press release.
“As more beauty professionals seek independence and flexibility, Sola provides a turnkey solution that empowers them to succeed in their own space while benefiting from the support of a thriving network,” Sola Salons DMV Regional Manager Cindy Poletis said. “These new locations reflect our commitment to meeting the growing demand in this dynamic market.”
The Reston location can be found at Plaza America (11674 Plaza America Drive, Suite B) in a space between CVS Pharmacy and Five Guys that was previously filled by Gold’s Gym. It has 63 chairs for lease.
The 48-suite Chantilly salon is at 13920 Metrotech Drive, Space 13920, in the shopping strip anchored by At Home. Its grand opening ceremony included a ribbon-cutting organized by the Chantilly Chamber of Commerce, a reception for beauty professionals who pre-leased a suite, and complimentary refreshments and tours for members of the public.
Based in Denver, Colorado, where its first location opened in 2004, Sola Salons now has 736 sites in the U.S. and Canada that are used by more than 20,000 workers, including hair stylists, estheticians, cosmetologists, barbers, nail technicians and massage therapists.
With its latest expansion, the company now has five locations in Fairfax County, including ones at Westwood Center in Tysons, Concord Centre in Springfield and University Mall near George Mason University’s Fairfax campus.
A public relations representative for Sola Salons said the company hopes to continue expanding in the D.C. region but hasn’t identified on any specific sites at the moment.
“While there are no additional sites confirmed, Sola Salons is continually looking for additional growth opportunities in the bustling DMV region,” the representative said.
