The Fairfax County Park Authority’s annual farmers market season kicks off Wednesday (April 16) with the McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market outside the Sherwood Regional Library (2501 Sherwood Hall Lane) in Fort Hunt.
It will be one of three sites to begin 2025 operations in April, with seven others opening their seasons in May.
The markets are held once a week through mid-October to late November at each location.
The McCutcheon/Mount Vernon market will operate Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon through Nov. 26. Others opening this month include:

A list of vendors can be found on each market’s webpage, and SNAP payments will be accepted at the Mount Vernon, Annandale, Lorton, Reston and Wakefield locations.
For health and safety reasons, pets are not allowed at farmers’ markets. Service animals are exempt from the prohibition.
All farmers’ markets are plastic-bag free. Patrons are asked to bring reusable bags with them.
While not operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority, the Vienna Farmers Market will also return in May, courtesy of the Optimists Club of Greater Vienna. Fresh produce, food stalls and performances by local musicians will be offered in the Vienna Community Center parking lot from 8 a.m. to noon, starting on May 3 and continuing through October.
In addition, Freshfarm continues to host year-round farmers markets every Sunday at the Mosaic District in Merrifield and every Wednesday in Reston at St. John Neumann Catholic Church (11900 Lawyers Road).
