Ford Motor-inspired restaurant coming to Fairfax

A restaurant brand inspired by the history of the Ford Motor Company has set its sights on Fairfax County.

Formulators of Ford’s Garage, a burger and craft beer eatery chain, have joined with an area franchisee to add three of the brand’s restaurants to Northern Virginia, the company announced Tuesday.

The deal will bring the brand to four locations across Virginia, following the 2024 opening of a Richmond location.

“We’ve received an incredibly warm welcome from the Richmond community at our current location and are thrilled to expand our reach further in the state,” Billy Downs, president of Ford’s Garage, said in a statement.

As part of the deal, franchisee Sunil Bastola will oversee locations in Fairfax, Alexandria and Woodbridge.

“We are thrilled to be working with my business partners to bring Ford’s Garage to Northern Virginia and introduce this one-of-a-kind dining experience to the community,” Bastola said.

Though specific locations have yet to be finalized, Ford’s Garage is “broadly searching” neighborhoods like Fair Oaks and Chantilly.

Ideally, the brand will be able to move into a 6,500-square-foot location with “good visibility, good co-tenancy” and with more than 130 parking spots, vice president of franchising and development Dave Ragosa said.

Founded in 2012, Ford’s Garage boasts a “unique dining experience that transports customers to a 1920’s garage.” Much of the restaurant’s menu, which features traditional pub fare, has auto-related monikers, such as the High-Octane burger and the “Cheese Curbs.”

In all, the brand’s menu offers more than a dozen different burgers, as well as sandwiches, salads, soups and a multitude of other entrees, including steak, hand-battered chicken tenders and pulled pork mac and cheese, among others.

A full slate of craft beers lead the brand’s drink menu, with more than two dozen to choose from at the Richmond location. Specific menu options for the new restaurants have yet to be finalized.

“With its high-quality food, immersive automotive theme, and strong brand appeal, it’s a perfect fit for the area,” Bastola said. “We look forward to building strong connections with local guests and creating a go-to destination for families, car enthusiasts, and food lovers alike.”

With the addition of the three Northern Virginia locations, Ford’s Garage will soon offer 35 locations nationwide.

As of Wednesday, it is unclear when the new locations are expected to open.
