Man charged with abduction and attempted sexual assault in Seven Corners

A Falls Church man has been arrested following a reported abduction and attempted sexual assault early this morning (Wednesday).

According to a release from the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD), a woman said she was forced into a vehicle at the 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard, near a popular Target.

Arlington County police arrested the 35-year-old suspect, El Moctar Mohamed M’Bareck.

Per the release:

Today at 12:38 am, officers were approached by a victim in the 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard in Seven Corners. The victim reported she was walking nearby when a man approached her from behind and forced her into a vehicle. While in the vehicle, the suspect attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to escape once the suspect parked the vehicle at a nearby convenience store.

Through security footage, detectives learned the suspect was driving a 2008 Ford Escape and had traveled to Arlington County. Arlington County Police were notified and located El Moctar Mohamed M’Bareck, 35, of Falls Church and took him into custody.

FCPD said M’Bareck was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and was charged with abduction with intent to defile.

Per the release:
