NOVA Parks and the Town of Vienna are celebrating the planting of new trees at an Arbor Day event in Vienna tomorrow (Friday).
The commemoration will be on the Vienna Town Green (144 Maple Avenue E) from 3-4 p.m.
“Join us to dedicate a row of newly planted Redbud trees, representing NOVA Parks’ partner jurisdictions and their solidarity in support of W&OD natural resources,” NOVA Parks said in a release.
The next day, the Vienna Parks and Recreation Department will be planting new trees at the Moorefield Park and provide shelter to the dog park. The planting will be at Moorefield Park (700 Courthouse Road SW) at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.

As a part of this year’s Arbor Day Celebration, the Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation Department and Tree Advocacy Committee will host a community tree planting. Volunteers will plant trees and shrubs, all native local ecotype. The new plant installation will be the next generation of forest and will be support efforts to maintain the Town’s tree canopy within Moorefield Park (Dog Park).
