Virginia State Police: Driver killed in early-morning crash on Beltway in Fairfax

Virginia State Police (VSP) said a driver died after striking a tractor-trailer on I-495 early this morning near the Old Dominion Drive overpass.

According to VSP, the driver of the sedan crashed into the back of a tractor trailer around 1:50 a.m.

“A fully loaded tractor trailer was slowing down because of traffic in the area when it was struck in the rear by a northbound sedan,” VSP said. “The sedan came to rest underneath the tractor trailer. The driver of the sedan died at the scene.”

VSP said the traffic was due to a nearby work zone.

In an update, police identified the sedan driver as Danielle Foreman, 21,  of Woodbridge.
