Fairfax County police are investigating a shooting outside a nightclub in Bailey’s Crossroads that sent a man to the hospital early this morning (Wednesday).
Officers responded to the Black Rose Lounge at 5815 Seminary Road at 1:02 a.m. for a report of shots fired. According to the police scanner, officers in the neighborhood heard “what we believe is a lot of gunfire” and sent someone to “check it out” before the official dispatch came in.
Upon arriving, officers found an adult man “with gunshot wounds to the upper body,” according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
“He was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition,” the FCPD said.
Scanner traffic indicates that additional officers and assistance from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department were needed to manage a “large crowd” at the Black Rose Lounge following the shooting.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the man was shot by another person during “an argument” outside the business. No arrests have been made, as of press time.
“Detectives remain on scene this morning continuing the investigation,” the FCPD said in a statement.
Barriers were erected near the Black Rose Lounge’s patio when FFXnow visited this morning, though it’s unclear whether they were placed by police or the business.
The club serves a variety of food, including Ethiopian cuisine and sandwiches, as well as cocktails and hookah. Happy hours take place from 5-8 p.m., and live music and entertainment are regularly offered.
FFXnow reached out to the club for comment via an online form after a phone call went straight to voicemail.
