Wineries pour into Tysons for Virginia Wine Festival later this month

The Virginia Wine Festival is coming to Tysons at the end of this month.

The wine festival, founded in 1976, brings wineries from around the state together for a weekend of exclusive tastings, pairings and entertainment.

The festival will take place on Saturday, May 31 from 4-9 p.m. at Lerner Town Square (8025 Galleria Drive), the parking lot near the Tysons Metro station where events like Cirque de Soleil and the Winter Lantern Festival have been held.

“As the longest-running wine festival in Virginia, this event has earned its reputation as the ultimate showcase of Virginia’s award-winning wineries,” a release said. “Attendees will have exclusive access to tastings from premier wineries, each offering a unique selection of handcrafted wines that highlight Virginia’s rich terroir and winemaking traditions.”

This will be the festival’s 47th iteration but its first visit to Tysons, a festival spokesperson told FFXnow. The previous edition in 2022 was hosted by One Loudoun in Ashburn.

General admission tickets are $55 for unlimited tasting, including a tasting glass, unlimited samples, and access to live music. Food from vendors is available for separate purchase.

There are also VIP tickets for $125, including expedited entry, a private lounge and more.

The release said the event will feature:

  • Exclusive Wine Tastings — Sample a diverse selection of reds, whites, rosés, and dessert wines from top Virginia wineries.
  • Meet the Wineries — Engage with renowned winemakers and learn the stories behind their craft.
  • Live Entertainment — Enjoy live music performances that set the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of wine tasting.
  • Gourmet Pairings and Local Eats — Indulge in delicious food from local chefs and food vendors, perfectly paired with your favorite wines.
  • Artisan Market & Shopping — Browse handcrafted goods, wine accessories, and specialty products from regional artisans.

For patrons who aren’t visiting by Metro, parking for the festival will be available at 1800 Tysons Blvd, though there’s a $15 parking fee for the full day. Attendees are discouraged from parking at Tysons Galleria, where their vehicle may be towed.

The event will also have a designated pick-up and drop-off zone for rideshare services at 8025 Galleria Drive.
