Fairfax County police are investigating a crash on Braddock Road that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers and medics were dispatched to Braddock Road at Little River Turnpike in Lincolnia around 8:44 p.m. for a crash involving a motorcyclist and a driver.

The motorcyclist was reportedly unconscious, the dispatcher said on the police scanner. The vehicle that struck the biker was described as a Chevy van.

“The motorcyclist, an adult male, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries,” the Fairfax County Police Department said in a social media post shortly before 9:30 p.m. “The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene.”

All lanes on Braddock Road are currently shut down at Little River Turnpike, as Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives investigate the scene. The Virginia Department of Transportation’s traffic camera system warns drivers to expect delays.

“Please use an alternate route,” the FCPD said.
