The three Republicans seeking election to statewide office this November will rally together in Vienna next week.
Current Virginia lieutenant governor and gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears, along with lieutenant governor nominee John Reid and incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares, who’s seeking reelection, will hold the ticket’s first joint appearance on Tuesday (July 1).
The event at the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (400 Center Street South) will also feature an appearance by Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

“This in person event will be filled with exciting campaign supporters, and a chance to connect with Republicans running to represent you,” the event description says.
Interested attendees are required to submit an RSVP via Eventbrite. The event is scheduled to run from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
For the past decade in particular, Fairfax County has been a strong base of support for Democrats, who have regularly received roughly 65% of the vote compared to their Republican counterparts.
Since 2017, the only Republican to prevail in the county during a general election is Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity.
However, an interesting wrinkle is in play this election cycle: neither party is putting up a candidate based in Northern Virginia, which hasn’t happened in at least 40 years.
The last time that happened — 1985 — saw much narrower margins of victory for the Democrats, though obviously many other variables have changed since then.
As determined by the statewide June 17 primary, the Republican ticket will face off against Democratic nominees Abigail Spanberger (Governor), Ghazala Hashmi (Lieutenant Governor) and Jay Jones (Attorney General) in the general election on Nov. 4.
