Welcome to the inaugural FFXnow Press Club members and how you can join them

With the weekend nearly upon us, FFXnow would like to extend a warm welcome and thank you to everyone who has signed up so far for our recently launched Press Club.

Given the economic uncertainty facing the D.C. region and the many news outlets and other services out there competing for subscriptions, your willingness to part with some hard-earned cash to support our reporting is truly appreciated.

For anyone who might’ve missed the June 17 launch, FFXnow Press Club allows readers to directly support our ability to report on all things Fairfax County by becoming members for $10 a month or $100 for a full year.

As perks, Press Club members receive:

  • FFXnow Pro Update, a new version of the daily afternoon newsletter that features larger photos and article summaries with no banner ads
  • Early Morning Notes, a second newsletter that goes out early in the morning on weekdays and offers a preview of that day’s morning notes and planned stories

Most importantly, though, you’ll help keep it viable for us to continue covering the largest county in Virginia with seven or more stories on most days, even with a relatively small editorial staff that also contributes to our more established sister site ARLnow.

Just this week, we’ve covered school board meetings and primary candidate forums for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District special election. We helped break the news of Harris Teeter’s impending closure in Tysons, dove into the air-conditioning issues plaguing Reston’s Lake Anne neighborhoods, and provided an overview of some new laws related to pedestrian safety and fireworks.

Anyone who’s interested can join FFXnow Press Club through our website. For all current members, thank you again for your support, and if you encounter any issues or have any other feedback (positive or negative!) regarding the still-new feature, feel free to reach out at news@ffxnow.com.
