
A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Fairfax County Parkway in Burke earlier this afternoon (Friday).
Officers were dispatched to Fairfax County Parkway at Old Keene Mill Road around 4:09 p.m. for a tractor-trailer that had flipped over, according to scanner traffic.
“Driver’s possibly unconscious,” the 911 dispatcher said.
The truck’s driver, identified as an adult man, was reportedly found trapped in the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
As of 5:30 p.m., the right and left northbound lanes on Fairfax County Parkway remain closed, as police investigated the crash. Traffic backups extended approximately 1 mile, per the Virginia Department of Transportation’s traffic cameras.
“Please use an alternate route,” the FCPD said.

In an update on July 28, the FCPD identified the driver as 57-year-old Kenneth Davis of Amissville. A preliminary investigation found that he was driving a 2022 Mack truck that veered off Fairfax County Parkway and hit a jersey wall.
“Preliminary, detectives do not believe alcohol or speed are factors in the crash,” the FCPD said.
