Juicy Brewing’s Herndon taproom is permanently closing

Come Monday, the brick-and-mortar location for one Herndon brewery will be closed.

Juicy Brewing Company, located in Herndon’s Sunset Business Park at 257 Sunset Park Drive, will shutter Sunday (Oct. 5), according to a sign on the door.

The company’s taproom has been around since 2021, when it took over the space formerly occupied by Aslin Beer Co. Aslin closed there in 2017 but opened a new taproom in 2020 at 767 Elden Street, where it remains today.

Juicy Brewing’s storefront won’t sit empty for very long. Current plans are for Hawkley Brewing, a new concept, to open at the address in January 2026, one of the new owners told FFXnow.

Other preliminary information about the new tenant, including whether it will be a full-service brewery/restaurant or another taproom, was not immediately available.

Hawkley is the latest addition to a list of brewers setting up shop in the neighborhood in the coming months.

Ornery Beer Company plans to open its second full-service location later this month in the Woodland Park Crossing shopping center (2310 Woodland Crossing Drive), filling the former home of P.J. Mulligans.

Voodoo Brewing Company, a Pennsylvania-based brewer, also plans to set up shop in Herndon as its first foray into the D.C. region. A full-service restaurant is expected to open “by the end of this year” at the Makers Rise apartment building (2311 Dulles Station Blvd) near the Innovation Center Metro station.

With its Herndon taproom closing, it’s unclear if this is the end of the road for Juicy Brewing or if the company is planning to continue operations in another form. An inquiry to Juicy Brewing’s email bounced back, and phone messages didn’t receive an immediate response.
