It doesn’t appear to be long before a local favorite will begin serving diners in Fairfax Corner.
Ruthie’s All-Day, a restaurant brand offering Southern comfort food, is targeting March to open its newest location — its first in Fairfax County, a representative of the restaurant told FFXnow, adding that more information will be shared once the grand opening draws closer.
Plans for the restaurant, located at 11951 Grand Commons Avenue, were first announced nearly 14 months ago.
“Our community has been so supportive of Ruthie’s All-Day since we opened in Arlington, and we are very excited to bring that same warm hospitality throughout Fairfax, my wife’s hometown,” chef Matt Hill said in 2024.
Ruthie’s, which opened its first restaurant in 2020, features a Southern-centric menu that has long drawn rave reviews from patrons.
Like its name alludes to, the restaurant offers all-day fare, starting with breakfast and brunch before plating lunch and dinner dishes.
Some of the restaurant’s more popular offerings include shareables like skillet cornbread and Harry’s hot hushpuppies, which include shrimp and roasted jalapeno. Individual dishes like the brisket bennie and the apple pie pancakes are also diner favorites.
Ruthie’s lunch and dinner menus also offer a meat-plus-sides deal, allowing diners to choose from seven different meat dishes (including smoked pulled pork shoulder and grilled flat iron steak) to be accompanied by one of 10 different side dishes.
Hours for the new location have not yet been publicized, though Ruthie’s current location in Arlington Heights is open daily from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. with later hours on the weekend.
