It won’t be long before both a Mediterranean restaurant and an immersive game show experience open their doors at The Boro in Tysons.

Fava Pot and Game Show Battle Rooms will officially open to the public later this month, a spokesperson for The Boro announced.

Taking the place of Tasty Kabob at 1624 Boro Place, the Egyptian restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on March 23 at noon, offering complimentary tastings of the bites that have become a staple of the Northern Virginia food scene until 6 p.m.

“After all of these years, I’m going back to the same area,” owner Dina Daniel told FFXnow last year, noting that Fava Pot started in 2013 as a food truck serving office workers in Tysons. “… It is a sense of accomplish[ment] and blessing.”

The Boro location’s menu is expected to follow a fast-casual approach akin to Fava Pot’s Dupont Circle location. It serves street food, such as chicken kabob rice bowls and kofta sandwiches, and is expected to have breakfast items like its original brick-and-mortar location in West Falls Church.

Less than a week later, Game Show Battle Rooms — a live-hosted experience where patrons can become contestants in simulated game shows — will open at 1640 Boro Place, Suite 208, on March 27.

The experience “places guests inside fast-paced, team-based game show challenges and is designed for corporate events, celebrations and social gatherings,” according to a press release.

At the Tysons location, guests will be able to choose between a classic showdown with the Family Feud-like Survey Battles, Spin and Solve (a.k.a. “Wheel of Fortune”), and What’s That Cost (similar to “The Price Is Right”) or primetime challenges, which include Survey Battles, a Match-Up Wars game where participants try to predict their teammates’ answers to questions, and Time Rush Games.

The two establishments are the latest additions to The Boro, which follows the recent opening of NOVA Plastic Surgery & Dermatology. Two interior design businesses — TileBar and California Closets — are also coming soon.
