According to the FCPD, the perpetrator was gone by the time officers arrived, but they quickly identified a potential suspect and located him in a vehicle in the 11000 block of James Swart Circle just outside Fairfax City with the help of the department’s Fairfax 1 helicopter.
“Preliminary, the victim and suspect are known to each other,” the FCPD said.
Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, 38, has been charged with second-degree murder for the stabbing and is now in custody without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, police announced this afternoon (Monday).
The victim’s name hasn’t been released publicly yet, pending notification of his next of kin.
“Detectives continue to conduct interviews and process evidence recovered from the scene to determine the circumstances that led up to the fatal stabbing,” the FCPD said.
