Police are still searching for a Herndon man who allegedly attacked people at his home and then fled the scene in one of the victim’s vehicles — with the victim inside it.

Officers were sent to the house in the 1000 block of Knight Lane around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday (June 6) after 911 received a call about an “altercation,” according to the Herndon Police Department.

Initial reports from the police scanner suggest the “domestic dispute” might’ve involved an adult son and his parents.

An HPD spokesperson declined to confirm any information about the victims, but the initial 911 call “came in as a domestic [incident] with another adult male,” she said.

The 911 caller got disconnected as details were being relayed to responding officers, per the scanner.

“After an altercation in the house, the suspect, Cristian Vasquez Alvarenga, 25, of Herndon, abducted a second victim that his [sic] known to him, stole that victim’s car, and left the area with the victim,” the HPD said on social media.

Police from multiple law enforcement agencies were able to track and pursue the vehicle as the driver crossed jurisdictional lines, traveling through Northern Virginia into D.C. and then Maryland, according to the HPD.

Alvarenga ultimately abandoned the vehicle and the reportedly abducted victim in Glassmanor, Maryland, DC News Now reported.

Police say the victim was safe when officers found him, but as of press time, Alvarenga hasn’t been located.

He is facing charges of robbery, assault, preventing a call to 911, reckless driving, driving with no official license and carjacking. An abduction charge has also been added to the list, Herndon Police said in an update around 9:30 a.m.

“We continue to work with local and federal agencies to locate Alvarenga,” the HPD said, adding that he’s considered “armed and dangerous” and was last seen in Prince George’s County in Maryland.
