The Fairfax County Police Department is looking for a suspect involved in an alleged indecent exposure, followed by an attempted abduction of a woman in Wakefield Park in Annandale over the weekend.
A woman reported that as she was walking on a trail in the park around 1:40 p.m. Sunday (June 21), a man exposed his genitals. While officers were responding to the call about the indecent exposure, another call came in, this time regarding an attempted abduction in the park.
“A woman was riding her bicycle when a man stepped in front of her causing her to swerve around him and dismount her bike,” police said in a press release. “The man attempted to pull her into the woods, but the victim pushed him and fled. The suspect continued to chase the victim and then fled the scene.”
The man was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s, about 5’6″ or 5’7″ tall, clean shaven, with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a white t-shirt with a design or writing on the back, and dark pants, and fled on foot.

Police said this morning that the case remained “an active investigation” and they believe the same suspect is responsible for both incidents. Victim specialists from the department’s Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division are assisting the victim with resources. She sustained minor injuries during the incident and was treated on site.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau are asking anyone who recalls seeing the man, or has any video from Wakefield Park from June 21, to call the Crime Solvers line at 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477).
