Two men were injured in a stabbing earlier this month in the Hunters Woods area of Reston, police say.

Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Colts Neck Road on June 8 shortly after 7 p.m. for the reported stabbing, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Video posted online of the emergency response to the incident by Northern Virginia Police Cars, a professional public safety photographer, shows about a dozen police cars lined up on Colts Neck Road, along with a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue ambulance pulling away from the curb near the Hunters Woods at Trail Edge assisted living facility.

“There were easily a dozen police cars there and the whole area was roped off with police tape including the underpass where the trail goes under the road,” a reader who was passing through the area at the time told FFXnow.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an adult man with a stab wound to the arm, the FCPD says. A second man later showed up at a local hospital with a stab wound to his upper body, apparently stemming from the same incident.

In both cases, the injuries were determined to be not life-threatening.

“Preliminary investigation indicates the individuals involved are known to one another, and this appears to be an isolated incident,” the FCPD said in a statement to FFXnow. “Detectives are working to identify and locate a person of interest.”

An investigation into the stabbing remains underway.

Police recently placed a mobile Flock camera along the footpath that passes behind the Hunters Woods Village Center near Wells Fargo, but the addition wasn’t prompted solely by the recent stabbing, according to the FCPD.

“We have had other incidents in the area and on the walk path, so the camera was placed on the trail as an added resource,” the department said.
