The Fairfax County Police Department has charged a Fair Oaks man in connection with his wife’s death after she died from gunshot wounds last night (July 12).
Leland Jameson, 64, has been charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Police responded to a 911 call in the 12000 block of Washington Brice Road in the Fair Oaks area around 10:21 p.m. Sunday. A call taker with the county’s Department of Public Safety Communications, which oversees the 911 center, had heard sounds suggesting a disturbance before the line disconnected, police said in a press release issued this afternoon.
The officers found the 60-year-old woman, Chisen Jameson, suffering from gunshots to the upper body. She was declared dead at the scene.
Police said that a second 911 call came in at 10:39 p.m. Discussions over the police scanner suggested this call came from Leland Jameson after a “dispute with his wife.”
“Detectives continue to conduct interviews and process evidence recovered from the scene to determine the circumstances that led up to the fatal shooting,” the Fairfax County Police Department said in the release.
