New Orleans-style beignets are on the menu at a new coffee shop opening Friday (Aug. 7) in Herndon.
Beignets & Brew will open at 348 Elden Street #460. The grand opening starting at 7 a.m. will include a ribbon cutting with Herndon Mayor Keven LeBlanc.
“We’re looking forward to celebrating with the community as we welcome our first guests,” Travis Loan, a regional representative for Beignets & Brew, told FFXnow.
The coffee shop specializes in traditional powdered sugar-covered beignets, beignet sundaes, chicken and beignets, and special varieties like Nutella, cinnamon swirl and seasonal options. The fried treats can be paired with dipping sauces such as blueberry, caramel, buttercream, chocolate and icing. Coffee, tea, smoothies and other drink options round out the menu.
Beignets and Brew has locations spread throughout the South and is expanding north up to Ohio. The brand has two Virginia locations in the Hampton Roads region and is also planning a Springfield location.
Loan said Herndon will be a good fit for a coffee shop with made-to-order beignets.
“We chose Herndon because we believe it’s a vibrant, growing community that values locally owned businesses and unique dining experiences,” Loan said. “After spending many years as local business owners in Virginia, we felt Herndon was the perfect place to introduce Beignets and Brew.”
