The Fairfax County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in a smash-and-grab armed robbery of a Springfield jewelry store over the weekend.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery Sunday (Sept. 27) around 3:30 p.m., at Dubai Jewelers (7010 Brookfield Plaza). Four men had arrived at the shop in a black Acura sedan, left the car, and then smashed the front glass door to get inside, police said in a release.
“One suspect brandished a firearm at an employee while the others smashed display cases and stole jewelry valued at approximately $600,000,” according to the release.
The four suspects subsequently fled from the scene in the same vehicle.
Major Crimes Bureau detectives are investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to call 703-246-7800, option 2. Tips can also be submitted through Crime Solvers of Fairfax County.
