A Chantilly man is facing criminal charges after two women saw him allegedly pleasuring himself while inside his vehicle earlier this year.
Officers responded to the 13000 block of Route 50 in Chantilly at 10:06 a.m. on June 1 after the women reported that “a man was masturbating inside his vehicle and taking photographs of them,” the Fairfax County Police Department says.
Though the man was gone by the time the officers arrived at the scene, they were able to identify the 58-year-old Loudoun County resident based on photos provided by a witness, according to the FCPD.
“One of the victims subsequently obtained warrants for [the man] through a magistrate,” the FCPD said in a press release. “The warrants were placed on file in Fairfax County pending his arrest.”
That arrest came on Nov. 3 when, around 4 p.m., officers received an alert from an automated license plate reader indicating that the man’s vehicle had been detected near the 2000 block of International Drive in Tysons. According to the FCPD, when officers found the vehicle, they saw the man masturbating inside it.
“He was taken into custody without incident,” the FCPD said.
The man has been charged with indecent exposure and masturbating in public. Both offenses are class 1 misdemeanors in Virginia, punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of $2,500.
Released on a $1,000 bond, the man is scheduled to appear in Fairfax County General District Court for an arraignment on Monday (Nov. 9), followed by an adjudicatory hearing on Dec. 10, according to online court records.
“Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure the victim is receiving appropriate resources and assistance,” the FCPD said, adding that anyone with information about these incidents or other possible indecent exposures can contact its Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 3.
