Greenheart Juice Shop has survived its first year in Vienna, despite the challenges of opening a new store in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To celebrate the milestone, the business will throw a party this weekend (March 26-27) with free fitness classes, cookie and dog treat pop-up shops, a “mocktail” brunch, musical performances, and a raffle.

“Being embraced by the Vienna community so wholeheartedly has made this first year in this community unforgettable!” Maggie Jackson, Greenheart’s field marketing manager, said by email. “From long-time fans to new lovers of the brand, we have had a great first year serving our first full menu and, of course, our juices and cashew milks, out of our Vienna shop.”

Greenheart opened its Vienna store at 208 Dominion Road NE on March 26, 2021.

Started in 2013, the company serves cold-pressed juices, cashew milk, smoothies, and health-focused food, including avocado toast, quinoa bowls, salads, and soups. It also has brick-and-mortar locations in Leesburg and Aldie.

Running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days, the anniversary festivities will double as a fundraiser. Part of the proceeds will go to the One Neighborhood Foundation, a Vienna-based organization that works with local restaurants to provide meals to first responders, health care workers, and other “local heroes.”

“Working with the One Neighborhood Foundation allows us to immediately see the positive effects of our donations and partnership and lets us support our neighbors when they need it most,” Jackson said.

Jackson says Greenheart’s plans for the future include adding new menu items, including seasonal recipes, and expanding its roster of brick-and-mortar shops. A Union Market store is now under construction for an anticipated opening this spring.
