A new fast food operator appears to be taking over the former Burger King adjacent to the Hunters Woods Village Center in Reston.
It’s currently unclear what will replace the now-vacant building at 2270 Hunters Woods Plaza, where Burger King shuttered last year.
However, another California-based company that operates various fast-food chains submitted a permit application for commercial alterations to Fairfax County last week.
Mysteriously titled “Burger King can’t have his way up in here — Bye Bye Burger King,” the application proposes a revamp of the building’s interior, including upgraded kitchen appliances, new counters, an updated lobby area and modernized bathrooms.
As of press time, the county was still awaiting the actual building plans for the application, which was filed on June 20.
According to county property records, the owner of the building is under an LLC called King of Northern Virginia. State business records indicate the entity shares the post office box address as the California-based, fast food restaurant company Scarborough Management Corporation, which apparently does business as Burger King.
The company could not be reached for comment.
