A new spot for burgers, milkshakes and more in Chantilly expects to hold its grand opening event this weekend.
Festivities for Wayback Burgers, opening inside the Sully Plaza strip mall, will be held Saturday (Sept. 21).
“We liked the Chantilly area and were looking to expand our footprint in the Virginia area,” company president Patrick Conlin told FFXnow.
As part of the grand opening, Wayback Burgers will offer a buy one, get one deal on its classic burgers. Patrons can also enter to win a variety of electronics, including Apple AirPods and a 50-inch television.
Wayback Burgers joins a somewhat saturated market for burger restaurants along the Route 50 corridor, where diners can also find The Burger Shack and My Burger Sports Bar. But the difference lies within the menu, which offers much more than just burgers, Conlin says.
In addition to seven different burgers — plus custom options — the restaurant’s menu boasts chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, hot dogs and more. A variety of hand-dipped milkshakes are also available, including a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake and a seasonal Cookie Butter Shake.
“We think the community is starving for a better burger restaurant like Wayback Burgers that not only serves great burgers but also a slightly more diverse menu with great chicken sandwiches and tenders, cheesesteaks and hot dogs,” Conlin said.
Founded in Delaware in 1991, Wayback Burgers has grown to offer more than 50 locations across the U.S. The new restaurant, located at 13938 Route 50, will be the brand’s third in Virginia, joining sites in Ashburn and Woodbridge.
A fourth Virginia location is “coming soon” to Newport News, per the company’s website.
