A government contractor that provides “AI-infused software and insights” has crossed the border from Loudoun to Fairfax County.

Unison opened its new headquarters at the Westpark Corporate Center in Tysons with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday (Sept. 24). Previously based in Sterling, the company says it spent a year building out the new space at 8444 Westpark Drive, Suite 920.

The office was intentionally designed to accommodate hybrid work schedules, enabling employees to work remotely while also “nurturing social interactions and collaborative projects,” according to a press release.

“The opening of our new headquarters marks an exciting new chapter for Unison,” Unison CEO Reid Jackson said in the release. “By relocating to Fairfax County, we’re positioning ourselves at the heart of a vibrant community that aligns with our commitment to innovation and brings us closer to the clients and partners we serve.”

Features of the Tysons headquarters include private offices and conversation zones “for confidential discussions,” collaborative areas, conference rooms, and a kitchen and employee lounge that can “also serve as hubs for gatherings, lunches, and after-work events,” Unison said.

The company donated furniture and equipment from its now-closed office in Loudoun Tech Center, a business park near Dulles Town Center, to local organizations, including the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, the Fairfax Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and two schools in Loudoun County.

“We are proud to support our community by contributing to these valuable institutions,” Jackson said.

In business for over 40 years, Unison provides artificial intelligence-based software tools that government agencies and contractors can use for contract writing, program management, budgeting and other processes. Its software has over 200,000 active daily users, according to its website.

In addition to getting access to the Greensboro Metro station and retail at The Boro, Unison says the gathering spaces and amenities in the Westpark Corporate Center “were crucial” to its decision to relocate its headquarters.

The two-building office park recently welcomed the restaurant 801 Chophouse, which opened in the former McCormick & Schmick’s space at 8484 Westpark Drive, and a new, rooftop exercise facility is in the works.

“We are excited to welcome Unison to our vibrant business community in Tysons,” Fairfax County Economic Development Authority President and CEO Victor Hoskins said in the press release. “Their commitment to driving technological innovation and fostering community growth resonates deeply with our shared culture. We look forward to supporting Unison as they continue to grow in Fairfax County and eagerly anticipate their continued positive contributions to our region.”
