Another outpost of national chain Marco’s Pizza could be coming to Fairfax County.

As the brand eyes an expansion across the state, Centreville is one location being considered by franchisee Marcel Clarke, the chain said.

The brand and Clarke have entered an agreement to open three new stores in Virginia.

“We are confident that this partnership will significantly contribute to our continued growth across the state,” Marco’s chief development officer Gerardo Flores said in a statement. “We look forward to seeing Marcel lead this next wave of development.”

There are currently three Marco’s Pizza locations in Fairfax County, with one each in Fairfax, Fairfax Station and Herndon.

Clarke is also looking at locations in Haymarket and Bristow — both in Prince William County.

“Not only does my family drive near and far for the product, but with Marco’s business model, there’s a clear path to building a multi-store portfolio,” Clarke said. “As a generational entrepreneur, this was something that was immensely important to me as I build toward a future.”

While the specific location of a potential Centreville store is currently unknown, the brand would have no lack of competition if it chooses to settle there. The area has a variety of chain and local pizza joints, particularly off of Route 29, including Domino’s, Pizza Hut and Ciro’s New York Pizza.

Founded in 1978, Marco’s operates more than 1,200 locations worldwide offering pizzas, subs, salads and other traditional fare.
